Welcome!
On behalf of the Great Plains Chapter of the Association for Clinical Research Professionals, I would like to welcome you and encourage you to be an active member in this newly formed Chapter. After much hard work, and with the help of some very talented and dedicated volunteers, The Great Plains Chapter kicked off its first official meeting on March 27, 2003. We are grateful to so many of you who supported us to make this event a great success.

The Great Plains Chapter holds quarterly educational meetings that members and nonmembers are invited to attend. Invited speakers address topics that are pertinent to clinical research. Members are encouraged to recommend future topics and presenters. Past presenters have included: an IRB chairman, a clinical and scientific investigator, industry pharmacist, and a independent CRA. Future speakers have been contacted to continue providing current information regarding important areas in clinical research.

This non-profit Chapter was established in order to provide clinical research professionals a means for professional interaction, continuing education, networking, and to deliver improved access to ACRP resources. I truly believe that involvement with a local chapter is one of the best time-effective and cost-effective means to obtain quality education and interact with other professionals to problem solve, discuss issues of concern in clinical research, as well as provide feedback on issues of concern to ACRP.

Through your continued involvement and support, you can help us reach some of our future goals of regional program development, certification, and scholarships for national events. I look forward to the opportunity to meet each of you and encourage you to take advantage of this great resource available to you. Together we can reach our goals and make our Chapter a dynamic organization from which we will all benefit.
